Unlucky in love, but lucky in the lottery, a Hyannis man, recently dumped by his girlfriend, won $30.5 million.
The headline really says it all. Sandeep “Sunny” Singh of Hyannis tried his luck in Tuesday night’s back in 2012 Mega Millions Drawing and landed one of only two tickets sold nationwide that matched all five numbers plus the selected Mega Ball. He’ll split the multi-state $61 million jackpot with one other winner from Fresno, California.
So that’s $30.5 million to be exact.
No word on the other person’s relationship status.
As WCVB reports, Singh was recently dumped by his girlfriend and was feeling pretty down about the whole thing. Though adding $30 million to your wallet overnight sounds like as good a way as any to patch and mend a broken heart:
“SHE BROKE UP WITH ME. BUT RIGHT NOW, I’M NOT REALLY WORRIED ABOUT IT. I WAS HEARTBROKEN AT FIRST, BUT NOW I AM GETTING OVER IT,” HE SAID.
Sally Sue down in Hyannis suddenly just became a lot less needy and is on her way back to Sunny’s arms as we speak. But now it’s Singh’s turn to be the breaker-upper as he plans on putting his notice in to Best Buy and Citizens Bank where he works the article adds.
His plans for his newfound riches? Singh will be sharing the money with his family and attending college to attain his bachelor’s degree. A noble goal indeed for the one percent’s newest club member. So wipe your tears away, Sunny. With 100 dollar bills. Watch the video below:
